About the Event

Schedule/ agenda coming soon! The gala will take place at the Shirley Beggs Ballroom in the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State University.

Storytime Village, Inc. invites you to join us in honoring individuals and organizations that have risen to the occasion to make significant contributions in improving the lives of Kansas children through literacy. The Read and Rise Breakfast Gala will celebrate the accomplishments of these worthy honorees with the Literacy Champion, Literacy Legacy, and Literary Arts Awards.

Literacy Champion Award: This award recognizes the work of an individual who has championed literacy initiatives and through their support and advocacy for literacy has made a significant impact on underserved children in the state of Kansas.

Literacy Legacy Awards: This award honors organizations whose work in the area of literacy in Kansas will leave a lasting impact for generations to come. The award is presented in the categories of Service, Leadership, and Community Impact.

Literary Arts Award: This award recognizes the work of an individual whose work in the literary arts advocates for children’s literacy and inspires a lifelong love of reading in children.
